Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced National Commercial Manager to oversee and lead our commercial operations nationwide. This pivotal role involves driving transformation in commercial systems, optimizing processes, and enhancing overall commercial performance. As a pivotal member of the National Executive Leadership Team, you will provide strategic commercial guidance that supports the successful execution of projects and the company's long-term goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage commercial performance, contract oversight, and risk mitigation across all projects.
• Offer strategic commercial leadership and expert advice to senior management.
• Review, negotiate, and manage critical client, consultant, and subcontractor contracts.
• Mentor, guide, and develop commercial teams throughout New Zealand.
• Champion uniformity in commercial systems, governance, procedures, and reporting frameworks.
• Support decision-making for project selection, tender strategies, pricing, and contract negotiations.

Required Skills and Experience

• Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent commercial discipline.
• At least 15 years in senior commercial leadership within the construction sector.
• Proven track record leading large-scale, complex construction projects successfully.
• Experience serving as a senior leader on project and corporate leadership teams.
• Strong leadership skills with a history of building and enhancing high-performing commercial teams.
• A values-driven leadership style with the capacity to influence company culture and outcomes positively.
• Advanced expertise in commercial negotiations, strategic decision-making, and risk management.
• Familiarity with JobPac software is a plus.
• Excellent oral and written communication proficiency.
