NASAMS Sentinel Field Service Representative - Qatar

About the Role

Raytheon seeks a dedicated Field Service Representative (FSR) to provide on-site support in Doha, Qatar for up to fourteen Sentinel Radar systems, the primary air defense radars for the US Army and a key component of the NASAMS defense system. This role also involves supporting the High Mobility Launcher (HML), with training provided on the job.

This position requires an accompanied assignment with the ability to meet deployment requirements including vaccinations and potentially additional CONUS training before deployment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee installation, testing, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of Sentinel Radar systems in Qatar.
• Collaborate with the Qatar NASAMS in-country team for advanced maintenance tasks beyond customer capabilities.
• Conduct regular Sentinel system maintenance and preventive maintenance checks as per Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM).
• Support march order, emplacement, customer events, and training events as needed.
• Coordinate 400Hz generator power supply for Sentinel operations.
• Utilize hand tools and test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power meters, multimeters for maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
• Maintain inventory and records of RTX spares and test equipment to ensure 24/7 Sentinel operation readiness.
• Manage movement and accountability of spare parts across work locations, including maintaining shipping records.
• Travel within Qatar to various military sites to support end-users.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; minimum 5 years relevant experience; alternatively, an advanced degree with at least 3 years experience.
• At least 3 years’ experience operating and maintaining radar systems, specifically S-band or X-band artillery search/acquisition radars like Firefinder and Sentinel.
• Experience interpreting technical manuals, drawings, and schematics for troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with test equipment including oscilloscopes, power meters, and digital multimeters for 3+ years.
• Willingness to commit to at least a one-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) assignment in Qatar.
• Capability to apply system knowledge to resolve operational problems effectively.
• Physical ability to lift 25 lbs independently and assist two-person lifts up to 75 lbs.
• Able to work outdoors in extreme temperatures exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Availability for extended workdays and scheduled on-call support with the Qatar NASAMS team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Military technical training such as MOS 94M Radar Repairer certification.
• Experience working with Middle East customers.
• Leadership experience in guiding maintenance programs and equipment record keeping.
• Familiarity with military protocols related to operational and tactical air defense systems procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Information

The candidate must possess an active and transferable U.S. government security clearance (DoD Secret) on the first day of employment and meet U.S. citizenship requirements. Initial onboarding occurs in Fullerton, CA, but this is not the permanent work location.
