Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate and innovative Computer Science Teacher for the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP). This full-time, on-site position aims to inspire students by integrating practical coding, computational thinking, problem-solving, and real-world technology applications. The successful candidate will have experience with the IB MYP and/or DP curriculum frameworks, proficient programming capabilities, and a talent for creating concept-oriented, engaging lessons.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging, challenging Computer Science lessons consistent with IB MYP and DP curricula.
• Teach core subjects including programming, computational thinking, algorithm design, and problem-solving.
• Manage hands-on coding sessions, programming laboratories, projects, and practical problem-solving exercises.
• Prepare DP students for Internal Assessments as well as external IB examinations.
• Support students in cultivating research, analytical, and computational proficiencies.
• Adopt differentiated teaching strategies to address diverse student needs and abilities.
• Incorporate inquiry-based learning methods, ATL skills, and IB Learner Profile traits into daily lessons.
• Promote cross-disciplinary connections between Computer Science and subjects such as Mathematics and Physics.
• Utilize digital tools, educational technologies, and simulations to enhance student learning experiences.
• Conduct assessments aligned with IB standards and provide meaningful, constructive feedback.
• Track academic progress and maintain detailed student records.
• Engage in open communication with parents about student development and requirements.
• Collaborate with fellow educators on interdisciplinary projects, events, and school initiatives.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with IB practices, Computer Science education, and emerging technologies.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Applications, or related disciplines.
• Teaching qualifications such as B.Ed., PGDIE, or CIDTL are preferred.
• Have a minimum of three years’ experience teaching, ideally under IB MYP/DP or similar international systems.
• Strong foundational knowledge of Computer Science concepts and programming languages.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or comparable programming languages.
• Capability to teach through practical, inquiry-driven, conceptual, and project-based methodologies.
• Well-versed in student-centered learning, differentiation, and assessment strategies.
• Excellent communication, cooperation, and classroom management skills.

Curriculum Experience

Experience with IB MYP and/or DP Computer Science is highly desired. Candidates familiar with CBSE, ICSE, Cambridge, IGCSE, or other recognized curricula who demonstrate strong programming expertise and adaptability to IB frameworks are also welcomed. Experience in interdisciplinary instruction combining Computer Science with Mathematics or Physics is advantageous.
