DP Mathematics Teacher - IB Diploma Programme

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated DP Mathematics Teacher specializing in IB Mathematics Analysis and Approaches (AA) and/or Applications and Interpretation (AI) at Standard Level (SL) and Higher Level (HL). The position is based at Bloomingdale International School in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India. This is a full-time, on-site role requiring a passionate educator committed to delivering high-quality mathematics instruction within the IB Diploma Programme framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and conduct engaging lessons following the IB DP Mathematics curriculum for AA and AI across SL and HL levels.
• Implement inquiry-driven, conceptual, and problem-solving learning experiences to deepen student understanding.
• Enhance students' mathematical reasoning and communication skills through real-world connections and interdisciplinary applications.
• Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learner abilities and preferences.
• Incorporate technology and digital tools effectively while advocating academic honesty.
• Develop students' proficiency in mathematical thinking, modeling, and problem analysis.
• Motivate students to articulate, justify, and reflect on mathematical processes and solutions.
• Guide students in applying mathematics to practical situations, fostering curiosity and resilience.
• Provide targeted academic interventions and support when necessary.
• Prepare students for IB Mathematics Internal Assessments by mentoring mathematical explorations, investigations, and research questions.
• Offer timely and constructive feedback, maintain accurate assessment records, and participate in moderation activities.
• Support student wellbeing through academic mentoring, workload management, and collaboration with pastoral staff.
• Work collaboratively within the mathematics department and across disciplines to ensure curriculum coherence and student success.
• Engage in school-wide academic initiatives, co-curricular activities, and continuous professional development including IB-specific training.
• Maintain open communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Engineering, Statistics, Physics, Education, or related field; a Master’s degree is advantageous.
• Valid teaching certification or licensure as applicable.
• Preferably over 3 years of teaching experience at the secondary or senior secondary level, specifically with students aged 16–19.
• Experience teaching IB DP Mathematics AA and/or AI is highly desirable.
• Strong command of mathematical concepts, pedagogical techniques, and assessment methods.
• Proficient use of technology in instructional settings.
• IB teaching experience or participation in IB mathematics training programs is a plus; candidates from other recognized curricula such as CBSE, ICSE, Cambridge, or IGCSE are welcome.
