Role Overview
The Munitions Operations Technician is responsible for managing all aspects of munitions accountability and inventory following strict guidelines such as AFMAN 21-200, DAFMAN 21-201, and 11A-1-10 alongside applicable technical data. This role operates the Theater Integrated Combat Munitions Systems (TICMS) and ensures adherence to the Performance Work Statement (PWS) and the Amentum ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS).
Key Responsibilities
- Strictly observes and enforces USAF and host nation explosives safety, AFOSH, and security standards during all operations at assigned sites and temporary duty locations.
- Maximizes utilization of TICMS and reports any system issues promptly.
- Assists colleagues with training and usage of TICMS.
- Monitors daily TICMS connectivity and initiates corrective measures if issues arise.
- Performs all munitions tasks adhering to quality standards, identifying and recommending solutions for problems.
- Completes all accountability and historical documentation accurately and on time.
- Collaborates with department members to resolve serviceability and accountability discrepancies, reporting problems to the Superintendent.
- Immediately informs the Munitions Superintendent or Operations Supervisor about any potential issues.
- Processes accountable and auditable transactions efficiently and promptly.
- Conducts warehouse inventories and reports findings to the Superintendent.
- Engages in the Asset Discrepancy Report (ADR) process ensuring actions on all assets; reconciles ADR files in TICMS and notifies senior staff of issues.
- Helps develop and monitor the master inspection schedule and shelf/service life status to initiate necessary disposition.
- Follows up on components needed for munitions Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTOs).
- Reviews actions affecting stockpile serviceability in the Automated Warehouse Management (AWM) and Automated Warehouse Processing (AWP) systems.
- Tracks munitions shipments via the Integrated Data Environment (IDE) Global Transportation Network (GTN) Convergence (IGC), verifying departure status.
- May fulfill entry-controller duties as needed.
- Works extended hours, including stand-by shifts, supporting mission needs during peace and combat scenarios.
- Performs additional tasks as assigned.
- Works in environments such as offices, maintenance shops, warehouses, and occasionally outdoors for long periods.
Minimum Qualifications
- Intermediate knowledge of USAF Supply and Technical Order systems or equivalent from other US military branches.
- Proficient with personal computers running Windows OS and Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment if required.
- Valid driver's license from home country and ability to obtain a host nation driver's license.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience handling Military Munitions.
- At least 2 years of experience in Munitions Operations or an equivalent role.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance; US citizenship is mandatory for clearance.
- Consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed for tasks.
- Physically capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally.
- Normal color vision and depth perception required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as a USAF MASO.
- Previous USAF MAJCOM Staff experience.
- Educational attainment such as a Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) degree in Munitions Management.
