Munitions Inspector

Overview

The Munitions Inspector is responsible for receiving, storing, inspecting, testing, transporting, and maintaining USAF Munitions, Munitions Material Handling Equipment (MMHE), and related resources at the designated site. This role includes operating Theater Integrated Combat Munitions Systems (TICMS) and MC2 software, while ensuring strict compliance with the Performance Work Statement and Amentum's ISO 9001 Quality Management System standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere consistently to USAF and host nation explosives safety, occupational safety and security protocols during all munitions and related operations across assigned sites and temporary duty locations.
• Report operational issues promptly to Munitions Control and the Superintendent.
• Assume control and implement immediate response measures during emergencies.
• Carry out all munitions processes following established quality procedures, identifying problems proactively and proposing solutions.
• Supervise Other Country National (OCN) munitions personnel as needed, providing clear work instructions.
• Perform inspections of munitions and containers according to 11A-1-10 standards and applicable technical directives.
• Document serviceability and accountability activities precisely and promptly.
• Collaborate closely with operations staff to resolve serviceability and accountability discrepancies discovered during inspections.
• Conduct warehouse inventories and address any found inconsistencies.
• Support custody accounts for deployed forces diligently.
• Inspect and certify munitions brass, residue, and containers per 11A-1-60 guidelines.
• Operate TICMS in accordance with site procedures.
• Perform reconditioning, repairs, and replacement of defective or missing components on munitions containers.
• Manage munitions storage actions adhering to strict explosives standards.
• Inspect, operate, and maintain light vehicles and handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual hoists.
• Operate and maintain electronic test equipment, metal strapping machines, stencil machines, heat sealers, pneumatic paint guns, air compressors, and power tools.
• Carry out basic maintenance on facilities and installed equipment; maintain cleanliness of vehicles, equipment, and work areas.
• Deliver general explosives safety briefings prior to operations involving explosives.
• Fulfill entry-controller responsibilities when required.
• Work flexible hours, including standby duties, to support mission requirements during peacetime and combat contingencies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Work environments include normal office, maintenance shops, warehouses, and outdoor areas possibly for extended durations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Intermediate understanding of USAF Supply, Traffic Management Office (TMO) Munitions, and Technical Order systems or equivalent US military systems.
• Proficiency with personal computers running Windows OS and Microsoft Office applications such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Capability to operate material handling equipment.
• Valid driver’s license from home country with ability to acquire host nation driving privileges.
• High School diploma or equivalent educational background.
• At least four years of experience handling Military Munitions.
• Completion of formal USAF Munitions Systems training or equivalent USAF service training.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance; US citizenship is mandatory for clearance.
• Adherence to prescribed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements when performing tasks.
• Physical ability to perform all duties, including lifting, pushing, or pulling a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally.
• Normal color vision and depth perception.

Preferred Qualifications

• Broad working knowledge covering all munitions functional areas.
• Intermediate familiarity with MC2 and other information management systems.
• Experience in USAF munitions storage, maintenance, control, and inspection procedures.
• Experience with TICMS, MC2, TMRS, and IMDS/DPAS for Munitions and MMHE management and use.
• Minimum of two years as a USAF Munitions Inspector along with Special Experience Identifier (SEI) Code 836 award.
• Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) degree in Munitions Management.
