Role Overview
The Multi-Technician is tasked with implementing both preventive and corrective maintenance throughout the resort, ensuring all facilities—from guest rooms to public and back-of-house areas—are kept safe, functional, and efficient. The role suits a versatile technician competent across various trades including electrical work, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general building upkeep.
Primary Responsibilities
- Execute daily maintenance tasks, promptly addressing repairs and troubleshooting issues across the property.
- Adhere to maintenance schedules to perform preventive upkeep.
- Respond swiftly to guest-related maintenance requests or breakdowns.
- Conduct basic electrical repairs, such as fixing lighting, switches, sockets, and other electrical components.
- Handle basic plumbing issues including leaks in taps, pipes, toilets, drains, and related fixtures.
- Carry out fundamental HVAC inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks when necessary.
- Perform minor carpentry, painting, tiling, and general building repairs.
- Inspect machinery, equipment, fixtures, and infrastructure to identify defects or possible hazards.
- Complete maintenance work following safety and quality standards.
- Comply with all health, safety, environmental, and property protocols.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and report unresolved issues to supervisory staff.
- Respond to emergency repairs and breakdowns promptly.
- Collaborate with fellow engineering team members and other departments to maintain seamless operations.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and workspace cleanliness and organization.
- Use spare parts and materials judiciously and notify supervisors of restocking needs.
- Support initiatives aimed at conserving water and energy throughout the facility.
- Perform any related duties as assigned by the Engineering Supervisor or Chief Engineer.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Technical or vocational certification in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, or a relevant discipline.
- Proven experience in maintenance or engineering roles with multi-skilled responsibilities.
- Preferably experience within hotels, resorts, residential, or commercial property environments.
- Practical knowledge of general building maintenance standards and methods.
- Competence in troubleshooting and repairing basic electrical and plumbing systems.
- Fundamental understanding of HVAC and mechanical systems.
- Ability to safely operate common maintenance tools and equipment.
- Good grasp of health and safety rules within the workplace.
