Multi Skilled Electrical Technician

Overview

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical Bias Multi-Skilled Technician to join the PPP-IML facilities management team based in Bridlington, East Yorkshire. This permanent, full-time opportunity involves maintaining high standards of building safety, compliance, and operational performance across a busy educational estate.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance and respond to reactive repair requests efficiently.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults, conduct repairs, and undertake general building upkeep tasks.
• Carry out statutory inspections, maintain compliance checks, and keep accurate maintenance documentation.
• Maintain electrical services, lighting systems, and associated equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
• Take meter readings and monitor the performance of building services regularly.
• Assist with minor plumbing, decorating, fabric repairs, and other general maintenance duties.
• Manage site contractors by conducting inductions and overseeing permit-to-work protocols.
• Support security measures including alarm system management, locking duties, and emergency call-outs.
• Act as a keyholder, ensuring timely and secure access as required.
• Adhere strictly to safety policies and company-client procedures during all work activities.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will hold an 18th Edition Electrical Qualification and have experience in electrical maintenance within commercial or public sector settings. Strong fault diagnosis, repair capabilities, and the ability to manage both planned and reactive maintenance tasks independently are crucial. Effective communication, customer service skills, and commitment to health, safety, and compliance requirements are essential.

Desired Qualifications and Experience

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installation or Maintenance is preferred.
• Prior facilities management experience would be advantageous.
• Experience within schools, healthcare, or public sector environments is desirable.
• Multi-skilled maintenance expertise covering both building fabric and mechanical & electrical services.
• Previous responsibility supervising contractors or supporting site teams is a plus.
