MRO Buyer

Role Overview

The MRO Buyer is responsible for managing procurement across various departments, ensuring purchases are cost-effective, timely, and comply with quality and policy standards. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, internal stakeholders, customers, external suppliers, and a strong focus on continuous process improvement and cost reduction.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with teams such as Engineering and Logistics to identify procurement needs, specifications, inventory requirements, and priorities for MRO materials and office supplies.
• Process purchase orders and ensure the timely receipt of materials and services, coordinating to resolve supply-related issues and delays.
• Oversee supplier performance by monitoring delivery, quality, responsiveness, and adherence to contracts; conduct regular evaluations and seek opportunities for supplier development and improved agreements.
• Maintain accurate procurement documentation including orders, contracts, tracking logs, and supplier data per company policies.
• Collaborate for inventory management to sustain appropriate stock levels based on lead times and production needs.
• Identify and apply cost-saving strategies, including supplier consolidation and favorable commercial terms.
• Prepare reports analyzing procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost-saving initiatives.
• Identify and drive improvements in procurement processes, supplier relationships, and operational efficiency; participate in continuous improvement projects and offer support to other procurement categories and team members as required.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an MRO buyer.
• Comprehensive understanding of procurement procedures, supplier negotiation, sourcing strategies, and supplier management.
• Strong team collaboration skills and readiness to assist others.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in procurement software, ERP platforms, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Highly organized and detail-focused with effective time management.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities, and proactively address issues and risks.
• Fluency in English for communication with international stakeholders and vendors.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or Supply Chain Management.
• Relevant experience in MRO procurement and supply chain roles, preferably within multinational, pharmaceutical, automotive, engineering, manufacturing or import/export sectors.
