Job description
Overview
The Mobile Plant Operator plays a vital role in operating and maintaining various mobile machinery such as loaders, haul trucks, dozers, graders, and excavators. This position involves performing tasks in adherence to safety policies and contributing to efficient quarry operations, including raw material handling and overburden removal activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere strictly to HSE policies prioritizing safety and actively contribute to safety initiatives across the plant.
- Operate excavation and material handling equipment skillfully using appropriate controls and attachments, even in challenging terrains and busy settings.
- Identify and remedy safety hazards proactively while ensuring all machinery inspections, maintenance, servicing, and housekeeping tasks are performed diligently.
- Communicate effectively with on-site supervisors and ground personnel, accurately interpreting verbal and non-verbal signals to maintain safety and smooth workflow.
- Maintain accurate operational logs and comply fully with work instructions and safety regulations.
- Perform pre-job hazard assessments and foster a safe work environment by consistently using PPE and working safely.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a relevant degree or equivalent qualification, or hold a recognized Trade Test certificate/license.
- Minimum of 3 years industry experience within the cement sector is essential.
- At least 4 to 5 years of post-qualification experience operating heavy mobile quarry equipment.
Knowledge and Skills
- Good communication and teamwork capabilities, with the ability to work independently when needed.
- Understanding of machinery main systems and ability to troubleshoot technical problems.
- Comprehensive knowledge of workplace safety regulations and procedures.
