Job description
Role Overview
As a Mobile Caretaker for Great Places Housing Group, you will serve as the frontline contact for resident inquiries when on site, deftly managing expectations and promoting a positive image of the organization through strong community presence. You'll be embedded within a flexible and dedicated team responsible for overseeing tenant accommodation and ensuring the smooth operation of Great Places communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and upkeep of estates, blocks, and schemes to the highest standards.
- Perform cleaning tasks including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, cleaning communal doors and glazed surfaces, dusting (both high and low), litter picking outside, ensuring all communal areas remain tidy and free of litter.
- Conduct Health & Safety inspections to eliminate hazards such as combustible materials, slip/trip risks; perform emergency lighting, fire alarm, and legionella system testing, promptly reporting compliance issues.
- Carry out minor repairs and routine maintenance in communal spaces, such as replacing light bulbs, fixing door handles, removing weeds, jet washing, painting, removing moss and graffiti, and adjusting light timers.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of a full UK driving license.
- Experience in a similar caretaker role with competency in general handyman tasks.
- Proficiency in IT and capable of using PDAs.
- Ability to work both collaboratively within a team and independently.
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- A proactive, positive attitude with flexibility regarding working hours.
- Awareness of site Health and Safety standards to protect self and others.
