Microsoft Teams Junior Technical Lead

About the Role

Join EY as a Microsoft Teams Junior Technical Lead supporting a global platform that reaches over 400,000 users across 150+ countries. This position involves ownership and management of the Microsoft Teams environment, including policy governance, feature enablement, and integration, with a secondary focus on Messaging and Exchange Online support.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight of the Microsoft Teams platform ensuring global consistency across Teams Admin Center, PowerShell, and associated provisioning tools.
• Design, enforce, and manage Teams policies globally and at country levels involving meetings, messaging, apps, external access, and policy transitions.
• Validate outcomes of Teams provisioning activities and troubleshoot differences between expected and applied configurations.
• Serve as liaison for developers on Teams-related Microsoft Graph API permissions and facilitate necessary security and application registration approvals.
• Monitor federation and external access functionality, manage inactive domains, and maintain compliance with governance and recertification standards.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams on feature rollouts, pilot testing, readiness validation, and resolving platform discrepancies.
• Manage Teams incident lifecycle, coordinate issue resolution, user acceptance testing, and rollout preparations.
• Stay current with Microsoft Teams roadmap features, validate behaviors, and prepare communications for internal stakeholders.
• Provide secondary support for Exchange Online and Outlook including incident triage, mail flow analysis, and coordination with Messaging teams as needed.

Desired Skills and Knowledge

• Proficient with Microsoft Teams administration including Teams Admin Center, policy management, and PowerShell scripting.
• Good understanding of Teams architecture encompassing meetings, messaging, apps, federation, and external access.
• Foundational knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, including app registrations, service principals, and group-based assignments.
• Understanding of Microsoft Graph API permission models.
• Familiar with Exchange Online administration concepts, mailbox management, mail flow, and Outlook dependencies.
• Basic knowledge of Exchange Online Protection, mail authentication protocols like SPF, DKIM, and DMARC, and identity integration using Active Directory and Microsoft Entra Connect.
• Experience with enterprise policy enforcement and governance for collaboration and messaging platforms.
• Working knowledge of incident and change management processes, preferably using platforms like ServiceNow.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting abilities, and clear technical communication skills.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
• Approximately 3 years experience in a similar technical role.
• Preferred 3 to 6 years of Microsoft 365 administration experience, primarily focusing on Teams.
• Exposure to Exchange Online and Outlook support and troubleshooting.
• Experience in managing enterprise-scale environments with global policy enforcement.
