Meter Reader

Job Overview

We are seeking dedicated individuals to perform meter reading duties in residential, commercial, and industrial locations as assigned. The primary task involves accurately recording electricity and/or water consumption using digital tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Visit designated premises following assigned routes.
• Accurately read and record consumption from electricity and/or water meters.
• Utilize handheld devices, mobile apps, or meter-reading software to log readings.
• Confirm meter numbers and customer or location information before data entry.
• Identify and report any damaged, faulty, inaccessible, or irregular meters or readings.
• Report suspected tampering, leaks, or unusual usage patterns.
• Capture photographic evidence or supporting details when necessary.
• Complete daily meter reading targets within set timelines by following assigned routes.
• Communicate with supervisors about access problems, discrepancies, or customer concerns.
• Maintain accurate records of readings taken and pending.
• Adhere to company health, safety, environment (HSE), field safety, and customer service protocols.
• Ensure the confidentiality and protection of customer information.

Requirements

• Completion of high school, ITI, or diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or related technical fields is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of electricity and water meters and how to read them.
• Physically capable of extensive outdoor fieldwork and walking.
• Familiarity with smartphones, handheld devices, and digital meter-reading applications.
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Basic proficiency in English communication.
• Having a UAE driving license is advantageous depending on the territory assigned.
