About the Role
Join Calisen's Field Operations team as a Meter Reader and contribute to building a greener future through smart energy solutions. This role involves visiting residential and commercial properties to collect accurate utility meter readings, inspecting metering equipment, and recording data digitally. You will work independently, managing your own schedule, primarily outdoors, supporting sustainable energy goals aligned with the company’s commitment to fairness, inclusion, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct visits to homes and businesses to obtain precise utility meter readings.
- Perform visual checks on metering equipment to ensure proper function.
- Utilize the company’s mobile application for logging data efficiently and accurately.
- Organize and manage your daily itinerary autonomously to fulfill meter reading schedules.
Candidate Profile and Requirements

Essential qualifications include access to a suitable personal vehicle, holding a full UK driving licence with no more than six penalty points, and having or being willing to obtain basic business insurance coverage for the vehicle. Residency in or near the advertised postcode area (****) is necessary to facilitate daily travel efficiency.
Helpful but not mandatory experience includes roles in customer service or public interaction, familiarity with data protection and GDPR, comfort using digital tools and mobile apps, experience working outdoors or in field-based jobs, and the ability to effectively manage individual workloads and schedules.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary of £26,227 plus achievable bonuses.
- Mileage reimbursement at 30.5 pence per mile.
