MET / Paint Technician

Overview

Our client, a well-established automotive company based in Gloucester, is seeking a skilled MET / Paint Technician to join their busy bodyshop team. This full-time permanent role requires versatility as it involves mechanical, electrical, trim (MET) duties combined with vehicle preparation and paint tasks to restore accident-damaged vehicles to their original condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical, electrical, and trim removal and refitting operations (MET work)
• Prepare vehicle panels for painting through sanding, masking, and priming
• Support paint and refinishing activities as needed
• Assess vehicle damage and determine necessary repairs
• Collaborate closely with panel technicians and other bodyshop personnel
• Adhere to manufacturer and industry repair standards to ensure high-quality work
• Complete job cards and repair documentation accurately
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Demonstrable experience as a MET, Paint, Vehicle, or Bodyshop Technician
• Proficient in both MET tasks and vehicle paint preparation work
• Strong understanding of vehicle repair methodologies
• Experience in a fast-paced bodyshop or accident repair setting
• High attention to detail with commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Preferably hold relevant automotive or bodyshop certifications
• Possess a valid full UK driving licence
