Position Overview

As a Merchandise Processing Team Member, you will play a vital role behind the scenes to ensure an outstanding thrift store experience. This role requires an energetic, dependable individual who thrives in a fast-paced, organized environment and supports the team by maintaining excellent store conditions and delivering friendly customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, sort, tag, price, and grade incoming merchandise adhering strictly to company standards.
• Organize items on rolling racks by category, size, and color.
• Help manage donation intake, floor changes, restocking, and preparation for sales days.
• Maintain efficient merchandise flow by completing daily sorting, tagging, and rack arrangement routines while maintaining quality control.
• Label storage bins and follow color-tag rotation to keep inventory consistently updated.
• Keep the processing area clean, hazard-free, and well-organized.
• Consistently follow safety protocols including personal protective equipment and lifting guidelines.
• Report hazards or incidents promptly, ensuring safe access in work areas.
• Participate in daily team communications and support team goals by contributing to a respectful and productive workspace.

Required Skills and Attributes

Preferred Experience

• Experience with warehouse operations, inventory processing, or retail back-of-house functions.
• Knowledge of thrift or second-hand merchandise condition grading.
• Understanding and compliance with health and safety practices including use of personal protective equipment.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, twisting, and physical movement throughout shifts.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs and push or pull rolling containers weighing up to 500 lbs.
• Exposure to elements such as dust, dirt, insects, and occasional pests.
• Work environment includes noise and varying temperature conditions.
• Requires availability on days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and closing shifts.
• Regular interactions with customers and the public.

• Hourly wage of $17.60.
