Mendix Developer

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mendix Developer with 3 to 5 years of practical experience in creating, implementing, and managing applications using the Mendix low-code platform. The candidate should hold a mandatory Mendix Developer Certification, preferably at the Advanced level (Intermediate accepted only with 5 years of production experience). This role requires close collaboration with business and technical teams to deliver scalable enterprise-grade solutions following Agile methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, design, and maintain applications on Mendix low-code platform.
• Convert business requirements into detailed technical and functional specifications.
• Create and refine microflows, nanoflows, domain models, and application pages.
• Connect Mendix apps with external systems through REST, SOAP APIs, OData, and other web services.
• Set up security models including role-based access and validate data within applications.
• Conduct unit testing, resolve bugs, and optimize app performance.
• Work with UI/UX teams to create user-friendly, responsive interfaces.
• Enforce Mendix coding standards through code reviews and best practices adherence.
• Manage deployment across development, testing, and production environments on Mendix Cloud or on-premises.
• Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Diagnose and fix issues arising in production swiftly.
• Keep up to date with new Mendix features, releases, and industry trends.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• 3 to 5 years of experience in Mendix application development.
• Proficient with Mendix Studio Pro (preferably version 9 or newer).
• Strong knowledge of domain modeling, microflows, nanoflows, and workflows.
• Practical experience integrating REST and SOAP web services and API management.
• Competent in Java or JavaScript for creating custom widgets or logic.
• Knowledge of database design and technologies such as SQL or PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Mendix Team Server and Git.
• Understanding of application lifecycle management and continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines.
• Expertise in Mendix security, including role-based access control models.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Effective communication skills with ability to collaborate across functions.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

• Intermediate or Advanced Mendix Developer Certification.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Mendix Cloud.
• Knowledge of native mobile app development within Mendix.
• Previous exposure to Agile and Scrum software development environments.
• Background in enterprise or client-facing projects.
