Member of Technical Staff - Search Core DevOps Engineer

About the Role

Perplexity is searching for an experienced DevOps engineer to join our compact team dedicated to transforming how users search and interact online. This role entails leading the architecture, development, and expansion of our infrastructure, tooling, and systems that empower our Search feature.

Key Responsibilities

• Craft and deploy highly resilient, high-performing, and scalable system architectures.
• Create tooling solutions to support engineers in their daily operations.
• Develop and refine CI/CD pipelines and workflows to boost system stability, durability, and iteration speed.
• Manage and enhance both key-value and relational databases for optimal performance.
• Scale and equilibrate web server backends to address dynamic demand changes.
• Continuously monitor systems and applications, identifying and solving issues related to reliability, scalability, or performance proactively.
• Build monitoring utilities, alerts, and dashboard systems to ensure clear oversight of system health and metrics.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrable expertise with cloud infrastructure, specifically on AWS.
• Competent in database administration and caching methodologies.
• Strong analytical skills for diagnosing and resolving complex technical challenges.
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proficiency in Python programming and Terraform scripts.
• At least three years of professional background in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or System Administration roles.
