Role Summary
We are seeking a meticulous Mechanical Inspector to join our Riyadh-based team. This professional will be tasked with carrying out detailed mechanical inspections and ensuring strict adherence to the Saudi Building Code (SBC) alongside international construction standards. The role involves oversight of mechanical systems installations and testing procedures, underpinned by strong technical knowledge and analytical capability to uphold high-quality benchmarks throughout project phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive inspections on mechanical systems, such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural elements, validating compliance with SBC and global standards.
- Generate precise inspection reports and technical dossiers outlining observations, analysis, and suggested rectifications with substantiated justifications.
- Oversee mechanical contractors and installation teams to guarantee quality workmanship, adherence to project specs, and punctual completion while fostering productive relationships.
- Conduct exhaustive testing and commissioning on mechanical systems, documenting outcomes and certifications accurately.
- Collaborate actively with project leads and engineers to troubleshoot mechanical concerns, support progress, and achieve team objectives transparently.
- Keep detailed and organized records of inspections, results, and compliance evidence for audits and regulatory scrutiny.
- Proactively detect safety risks and deviations, applying corrective and preventive measures to uphold site safety and compliance.
- Provide mentorship and technical advice to junior inspectors and staff on inspection techniques, quality criteria, and industry best practices.
- Evaluate mechanical equipment performance and recommend maintenance or replacement based on analytical insight and standards.
- Ensure all operations conform to contract specifications and quality assurance protocols throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage multiple inspection engagements concurrently with rigorous attention to detail and efficient organization.
- Effectively communicate inspection findings and technical advice to varied stakeholders clearly and professionally.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 10 years of experience in mechanical inspection, quality assurance, or construction supervision.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems encompassing HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural components.
- Strong grasp of Saudi Building Code (SBC), local regulations, and international construction standards.
- Competent in technical documentation, blueprint interpretation, and CAD software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in English communication; Arabic skills are advantageous.
- Experience with inspection software, digital record-keeping, and data management platforms.
- Proven leadership and supervisory capability, managing contractors and teams effectively.
- Solid understanding of construction safety protocols and enforcement.
- Exceptional accuracy in record maintenance and documentation.
- Ability to independently handle multiple projects with strong organizational skills.
- Familiarity with construction project management and scheduling tools.
- Background in commissioning and testing mechanical systems.
- Expertise in site safety management and quality assurance.
- Preferred professional certifications in mechanical inspection or related quality assurance fields.
- Skilled in preparing comprehensive technical reports and delivering findings to stakeholders.
- Strong time management and task prioritization in fast-paced settings.
- Excellent interpersonal skills fostering collaboration within teams.
- Physical capability for on-site inspections under various environmental conditions.
