This mechanical fitter position involves work primarily at various Western Australian locations including Perth, Busselton, Karratha, Port Hedland, Fitzroy Crossing, or Kununurra, with FIFO shifts to Pilbara mine sites. Rosters vary depending on site and department, typically including 7 days on/7 days off/7 days rest, 7 days on/7 days off/14 days rest, or 8 days on/6 days off patterns.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the smooth operation of ore processing plants by maintaining plant and equipment.
- Strictly follow established work instructions and safety protocols.
- Carry out daily equipment inspections and document findings.
- Deliver detailed and precise shift handovers, maintaining comprehensive daily logs and reports.
- Support continuous improvement activities aimed at enhancing plant performance.
- Identify hazards in the workplace promptly and apply effective solutions to mitigate risks.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess an Australian Recognised Trade Certificate in Mechanical Fitting.
- Previous experience in running large-scale wet or dry processing plants, preferably within mining environments.
- Strong capability to perform risk assessments and implement safety controls rigorously.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective two-way communication during operations.
- Hold a current C Class Driver’s Licence.
