About the Internship
This internship offers practical exposure to mechanical engineering challenges in the defense sector. Under mentorship, interns will assist in the development of mechanical components and systems, CAD modeling, material selection, finite element analysis, system integration, and testing procedures tailored for advanced defense products.
Key Responsibilities
- Support design and development of mechanical systems and components specific to defense applications alongside senior engineers.
- Create detailed 3D models and 2D technical drawings using industry-standard CAD software such as SolidWorks and CATIA.
- Assist with material choice and manufacturing process to meet performance and environmental standards.
- Help perform structural integrity assessments using finite element analysis (FEA) software to evaluate strength and stability.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical designs with electronic systems.
- Contribute to the development and execution of mechanical testing protocols including stress, vibration, and environmental tests.
Candidate Eligibility
- Applicants must be able to commit to a full-time, in-office internship for 6 months starting between September 11, 2026, and October 16, 2026.
- Open to fresh graduates and Mechanical Engineering students with a relevant skill set and keen interest in defense technology.
- Prior hands-on experience in precision system design or prototype creation highly preferred.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Familiarity or willingness to learn fundamentals of finite element analysis (FEA).
- Basic understanding of material properties and selection protocols for mechanical parts.
- Interest in defense technologies and regulatory standards.
- Some practical experience with electronics projects or laboratory work is advantageous.
