Role Overview

As a rapidly expanding organization offering promising career trajectories, ControlSoft seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer willing to advance alongside them and contribute visionary input to the next generation of automation machinery. Based in Dundalk, Co. Louth, the selected professional will craft innovative mechanical designs integral to automation solutions by collaborating across engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and develop automated machinery tailored to client needs, managing design aspects from initial idea through to project completion.
• Create and detail both 2D and 3D designs utilizing Solidworks software.
• Produce, review, and maintain project technical documentation adhering to quality standards.
• Review project specifications thoroughly with customers to ensure clarity and agreement.
• Manage and prioritize workload efficiently across multiple concurrent projects to meet deadlines.
• Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to fulfill project objectives and company ambitions.
• Share expertise and participate actively in problem-solving within project teams.
• Engage in continuous improvement efforts across the department and broader organization.
• Design mechatronic equipment including mechanical mechanisms, transfer and servo systems, robotics, pneumatics, electrical components, and safety guards.
• Maintain documentation and oversee change control procedures.
• Adhere strictly to ISO9001 quality management systems throughout all activities.

Qualifications and Skills

• Possess at least a Bachelor's degree in Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, Electronic, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• A minimum of five years experience in machine design.
• Familiarity with software platforms such as Rockwell Studio 5000, FT View, Ignition, Siemens TIA Portal/Step7, OSI PI Historian, and VBA.
• Understanding of regulatory frameworks like 21 CFR Part 11 and GAMP is beneficial.
• Certifications in Cisco Networking, VMware, or equivalent credentials are advantageous.
• Knowledge of robotics applications and safety standards is a plus.
• Comprehensive grasp of automation theories and best practices.
• Demonstrate ambition, confidence, professionalism, and excellent communication and organizational capabilities.
• Strong aptitude for identifying and resolving complex problems.
