Job description
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and proficient Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in Special Purpose Machine (SPM) design and development to join our Bengaluru-based engineering team. This role involves end-to-end responsibility for conceptualizing, designing, and supporting manufacturing of automation systems, fixtures, and industrial equipment tailored to meet diverse customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and develop SPMs, automation assemblies, production fixtures, and related equipment.
- Prepare accurate 3D CAD models and detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings.
- Translate client specifications into innovative machine concepts and perform necessary design calculations.
- Select appropriate components and execute tolerance analyses to ensure design robustness.
- Collaborate effectively with manufacturing, assembly, and procurement teams throughout project execution phases.
- Provide on-site assistance during machine installation, testing, and commissioning processes.
- Compile comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOM) and maintain engineering documentation.
- Diagnose design challenges and implement effective improvements while adhering to stringent quality and safety standards.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Proficiency in 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks and CATIA for modeling and drafting.
- Solid understanding of mechanical machine components, pneumatics, hydraulics, and automation frameworks.
- Awareness of diverse manufacturing techniques including sheet metal work, machining, welding, and assembly workflows.
- Expertise in generating detailed engineering drawings and comprehensive BOMs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to optimize machine designs.
- Effective communicator with the ability to work collaboratively in team environments.
Compensation
This position offers a monthly salary ranging from ₹30,000 to ₹40,000, reflecting experience and skills.
