Job description
Overview
We are recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer position located in Pune, responsible for the development of intricate 3D CAD models using SolidWorks and supporting new product development and sustaining engineering projects with a reputed multinational client.
Work Environment and Terms
- Work location: Pune, India.
- Work mode: Full onsite (WFO).
- Shift: General.
- Notice period: Candidates with notice period up to 30 days only will be considered.
- This is a long-term opportunity provided through third-party payroll.
Job Responsibilities
- Create accurate 2D and 3D SolidWorks CAD models in line with project specifications.
- Collaborate with the manufacturing team to produce detailed 2D drawings featuring proper tolerances, GD&T, and surface finish indications.
- Engage in critical design reviews and obtain approvals by working closely with relevant stakeholders.
- Generate, configure, and maintain precise ERP Bill of Materials (BOM) based on product drawings.
- Perform regular BOM audits to ensure data accuracy.
- Support setting up and auditing plant inventories.
- Manage project deliveries by defining scopes, scheduling tasks, and ensuring punctual competition of competitive products.
- Drive continuous process enhancements via automation and standardization initiatives.
- Maintain thorough documentation including project activities, meeting notes, and assignment records.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Practical experience in mechanical design and usage of CAD tools.
- Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks and Product Data Management (PDM) vault systems.
- Working knowledge of ERP software environments.
- Good command of Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong verbal, written communication, and presentation capabilities.
- Awareness of sheet metal design principles and machining technologies.
- Capability to work autonomously and collaborate effectively within teams.
Preferred Additional Skills
- Experience in 3D HVAC system design along with comprehensive engineering details.
- Prior work engaging SolidWorks tools extensively.
- Familiarity with ERP software tools and workflows.
