About the Role

Joining Walmart Canada as a Meat Associate offers an engaging opportunity to enhance your expertise within the retail sector. In this position, you will deliver outstanding customer service aligned with Walmart's core beliefs and values, manage and maintain the meat department zoning, assist with inventory stocking, and support sales transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain zoning in the meat department.
• Rotate stock regularly and monitor for expired goods.
• Ensure all merchandise is correctly labeled and priced.
• Strictly comply with cold chain standards including thermometer calibration, temperature tracking, food safety protocols, product rotation, and adherence to sell-by and expiration dates.
• Process orders for Deli merchandise, prepare sliced and ready-to-serve items like meat, cheese, and fried chicken, and offer customer assistance as needed.
• Follow proper handling procedures related to ordering, clearance, price adjustments, and labeling of products.
• Prepare deli orders using slicers and other utensils, cook chicken using rotisserie ovens and deep fryers, and prepare salads and side dishes for display and customer specialty requests.
• Adhere to all applicable health and safety guidelines.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $16.35.

• Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
