Key Responsibilities

• Keep the meat department clean, organized, and correctly arranged to ensure readiness for customers at all times; regularly rotate stock and dispose of expired or unsellable items.
• Verify that all products are accurately priced and labeled, adhering to procedures for ordering, discounts, marking up or down prices, and signage.
• Comply with food safety and cold chain protocols, including performing temperature checks, calibrating thermometers, handling food properly, rotating items, and observing sell-by and expiration dates.
• Take customer orders and prepare deli products such as meat, cheese, and fried chicken using equipment like slicers, stackers, rotisserie ovens, and deep fryers safely; stock display cases and fulfill special requests.
• Follow health and safety policies to maintain a safe, hygienic, and clean workplace.
• Be flexible in working various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, ensuring consistent service and store operations.

Challenges in the Role

• Manage a high workload efficiently in a fast-moving environment, including overnight shifts, by planning and sustaining focus and energy.
• Perform physical duties such as standing for long periods, bending, and lifting stock, equipment, or supplies up to 20 lbs, occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Complete repetitive tasks like stocking, zoning, and organizing products attentively to uphold store standards.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $16.45.
