Job description
Position Overview
The Deli Bakery Team Associate is responsible for delivering outstanding customer service by following Walmart's core principles and values. This role involves maintaining the Bakery and/or Deli sections, stocking merchandise, and assisting customers with their purchases.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain organized shelves, tables, and display areas by zoning the department appropriately, ensuring each product is placed correctly.
- Conduct stock rotation and monitor products for expiration to maintain freshness.
- Ensure all merchandise is properly labeled with prices and signs.
- Follow company policies on cold chain compliance, calibrate thermometers, record temperatures, handle food correctly, and adhere to sell-by and expiration dates.
- Handle customer orders for Deli items, prepare hot deli foods, and provide assistance as needed.
- Prepare deli food utilizing utensils, cook chicken using rotisserie ovens, and assemble side dishes for display.
- Prepare bakery items such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls by following thawing and baking instructions to maintain quality and presentation.
- Follow proper procedures regarding ordering, clearances, markups/markdowns, and correctly sign, flag, price, and label merchandise.
Compensation
The starting wage for this position is $16.35 per hour.

- Must be at least 16 years of age.
