Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the meat department’s cleanliness, organization, and proper zoning to ensure a customer-ready environment at all times; regularly rotate stock and remove expired or unsellable items.
• Ensure all products are accurately signed and priced by following Walmart’s procedures for ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, labeling, and price signage.
• Adhere strictly to food safety standards and cold chain protocols, including temperature monitoring, thermometer calibration, proper handling, and compliance with sell-by and expiration dates.
• Take customer orders and prepare deli products such as meat, cheese, and fried chicken using various equipment like slicers, stackers, rotisserie ovens, and deep fryers safely.
• Comply with all health and safety regulations to maintain a hygienic, safe, and clean workspace.
• Be flexible in working various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet store requirements and ensure consistent customer service.

Challenges in the Role

• Manage a high volume of tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment, including overnight shifts, while maintaining focus and energy.
• Handle physical demands such as standing for long periods, lifting inventory or equipment up to 50 lbs, and performing repetitive stocking and organizing tasks while maintaining attention to detail.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $18.05 CAD.

Minimum Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
