About the Role
Followmont Transport Pty Ltd is currently looking for a skilled Tug Driver and Yard Operator to join their Sydney team for a long-term, hands-on position with consistent working hours. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Fleet Controllers and Operations to efficiently and safely maneuver trailers around the depot, supporting freight movements and ensuring smooth operational flow.
Key Responsibilities
- Transporting trailers using a tug vehicle to and from designated loading and unloading zones.
- Communicating and coordinating trailer movements effectively with Fleet Controllers and Operations staff.
- Operating forklifts to handle the loading, unloading, and staging of freight.
- Assisting with preparation of trailers including securing loads with restraints, straps, gates, and curtains.
- Supporting other yard and operational tasks as needed, including occasional relocation of trailers and other equipment within the depot.
- Adhering strictly to all safety protocols and compliance regulations at all times.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of a valid MC driver’s licence.
- Valid LF forklift operator licence.
- Previous experience working in a transport yard or similar operational environment.
- Tug driving experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and meticulous attention to detail.
- Dependable with a strong team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to successfully pass medical exams, drug and alcohol screening, and criminal background checks.
