Role Overview

The Materials Supplier Quality Representative is responsible for ensuring quality assurance governance for raw materials, consumables, single-use components, and packaging materials within a pharmaceutical environment. This role supports supplier qualification, approval, and continuous performance evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide quality governance over suppliers of raw materials, consumables, single-use parts, and packaging.
  • Assist with or lead the qualification and approval processes for suppliers and conduct ongoing performance reviews.
  • Examine supplier documentation including questionnaires, quality agreements, and technical files.
  • Perform supplier audits and conduct risk assessments to evaluate supplier compliance and risks.
  • Investigate any deviations, complaints, defects, or non-conformance issues linked to suppliers.
  • Manage corrective actions from suppliers and evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Review changes proposed by suppliers to assess their impact on Good Manufacturing Practice operations and product quality.
  • Approve material specifications, sampling strategies, and release documentation related to materials.
  • Oversee processes such as receiving, sampling, quarantining, release, and rejecting supplier materials from a quality perspective.
  • Review incoming material documentation, including certificates of analysis or conformance.
  • Track supplier performance indicators, recurring issues, and quality trends.
  • Support material qualification activities for site start-up, validation, and routine production phases.
  • Collaborate closely with Procurement, Warehouse, Quality Control, Manufacturing, MSAT, and Global Supplier Quality teams.

Requirements and Desired Qualifications

  • Approximately five or more years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Direct experience in supplier quality, materials management, warehouse QA, or managing incoming materials.
  • Proven experience conducting supplier audits, qualification, managing quality agreements, and handling change notifications.
  • Sound understanding of raw material controls and European Union Good Manufacturing Practice standards.
  • Experience in biologics or single-use systems is highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with SAP or other material management software is beneficial.
