About the Role
A leading company specializing in manufacturing, wholesaling, and distributing plumbing supplies to builder merchants in Dublin, Ireland, is seeking a permanent Demand Planner. This position is pivotal in enhancing demand forecasting and planning processes, serving as a crucial liaison between commercial and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the accuracy and reliability of the third-party demand planning software, functioning as the primary user, to generate dependable and actionable data for purchasing decisions.
- Engage in forecast evaluations and validations, delivering transparent reports on forecast precision while contributing to the strengthening of Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) within the organization.
- Improve sales forecasts for current product lines by gathering, verifying, and analyzing relevant information to boost forecasting accuracy and service levels.
- Lead efforts in out-of-stock monitoring and root cause investigations to reduce lost sales occurrences.
- Proactively identify potential future inventory challenges and opportunities, collaborating with Purchasing, Operations, and Sales teams to provide actionable guidance.
- Manage the impact of product phase-ins and phase-outs, adjusting forecasts for obsolete items and new introductions within the demand planning tool.
- Serve as a communication bridge between the purchasing and sales departments, translating commercial insights into adjustments within the forecasting tool.
- Collaborate closely with Operations and Sales teams to fine-tune inventory targets at third-party logistics providers.
- Integrate and contribute to a skilled and growing Purchasing department team.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Possess a relevant tertiary qualification, ideally in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related fields.
- Have at least three years of experience in demand planning with active participation in S&OP processes.
- Demonstrate proficiency using forecasting tools and methodologies.
- Experienced with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and reporting platforms such as Power BI.
- Familiarity with SQL-based ERP systems.
- Exhibit a proactive and communicative approach, comfortable working with senior business stakeholders.
- Detail-focused, possessing a structured and process-oriented work style.
- Collaborative team player with a willingness to deepen knowledge about company products, systems, and customers.
- Must hold a valid work permit for Ireland or an EU passport.
