Job description

About the Role

We are seeking experienced Masters to join our team in Queensland at the Port of Brisbane. There are both casual and permanent positions available, mainly working Monday to Friday. You will manage a variety of vessels including bed levelling units, survey boats, and tug and barge operations to ensure efficient marine activities and navigable harbor channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and manage multiple support vessels relevant to port maintenance and marine infrastructure.
  • Participate in ongoing company training to maintain certifications and enhance operational skills.
  • Receive mentoring and coaching to advance your maritime career within a supportive environment.
  • Conduct bed levelling activities, interpret survey data, and execute works aligned with seabed project specifications (preferred).

Requirements

  • Hold a current AMSA Master <24m NC certification and Marine Engine Driver's Grade 3 NC.
  • Possess High Risk Work Licence, Dogging, Rigging, and C6 tickets (desirable).
  • Experience with bed levelling and related survey interpretation is an asset.
  • Strong commitment to safety leadership and accountability for assigned tasks.
  • Capability to work well in a small team with resilience and a proactive attitude.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Must have a valid driver’s licence and reliable transport as public transport to site is unavailable.
  • Australian citizenship, permanent residency or valid work permit/visa required along with passing pre-employment medical and national police checks.

Compensation and Benefits

The remuneration for permanent employees is $95,564.96 per annum, with casual workers earning $58.28 per hour plus 12% superannuation. Overtime opportunities include work during nights, weekends, and public holidays.
