Role Overview

The position of Master Cutter/Tailor is a full-time, on-site role located in Ajman. Responsibilities include taking precise measurements, translating design requirements into patterns, cutting fabrics for diverse garments such as dresses and formal wear, sewing and assembling pieces, conducting fitting sessions, and performing meticulous alterations to guarantee the perfect fit and style. The role requires constant interaction with clients to assess fabric choices, design specifications, and finishing details to achieve satisfaction. Maintaining a tidy and organized work environment, supervising garment quality, and mentoring junior staff in technical tailoring and cutting procedures are also key aspects of this job.

Qualifications and Skills

• Extensive knowledge in pattern making, fabric cutting, and garment construction capable of managing intricate designs and personalized orders.
• Competence in both hand and machine sewing, expert fitting abilities, and performing detailed alterations for precise sizing and high-quality finishing.
• Ability to interpret design sketches, understand various fabric characteristics, and advise on suitable materials and tailoring approaches.
• Meticulous attention to detail, strong craftsmanship, and dedication to upholding consistent quality across all garments.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills to effectively understand client needs and provide informed guidance on options.
• Prior experience in a similar role as master cutter or tailor within dressmaking or fashion industries, ideally supported by a portfolio showcasing completed projects.
• Willingness and ability to work full time on-site in Ajman, efficiently managing multiple orders and meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced workshop.
