Job description
Overview
Chevron invites applications for the Marine Operator position located at Jurong Terminal, Singapore. Interested candidates are advised to review the Data Privacy Notice prior to applying. The deadline for applications is 31 August 2026 at 11:59 PM Singapore Time.
Key Responsibilities
The role encompasses a range of operational and safety tasks, including:
- Ensuring compliance with safe work practices and conducting hazard identification and risk assessments with contractors to mitigate risks before work begins.
- Verifying and validating relevant documentation and certifications prior to issuing work permits, maintaining statutory compliance at all times.
- Performing OE-HSE activities such as AHAS assessments, safety walkabouts, inspections, near-miss incident reporting, and safety leadership talks.
- Assisting in incident investigations and incident reporting.
- Regularly inspecting and testing fire-fighting apparatus and alarm systems within the terminal and jetties.
- Supervising in-house terminal crews on all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) matters and responding promptly to emergencies following established procedures.
- Managing various operational activities: tank farm operations, pipeline receipts, jetty and marine operations, tank truck loading and receipt activities, additive management, and storage inventory control.
- Ensuring all work complies with local statutory requirements, corporate policies, terminal rules, and Chevron’s safe work procedures, including overseeing lockout/tagout (LOTO) and handover (HOTO) processes.
- Supervising contractors, marine crews, and third-party deliverers to uphold safe work practices and terminal regulations.
- Properly managing hazardous and toxic waste to prevent environmental pollution, including waste collection, storage, and disposal according to prescribed protocols.
- Engaging with stakeholders such as vessel masters, surveyors, and internal teams to coordinate product receipts, vessel berthing, storage, and transfer operations ensuring safety, efficiency, and reliability.
- Providing field supervision to ensure terminal equipment operability and reporting any non-compliance or equipment issues.
- Maintaining vigilance against fraud and reporting suspicions or incidents promptly.
- Participating in all required training programs, applying knowledge to enhance work skills, mentoring fellow operators, attending external courses as needed, and performing additional related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess NITEC, Higher NITEC, or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
- At least two years of relevant work experience.
- Preferably experienced in oil & gas, petrochemical, or pharmaceutical sectors.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Information
- This position does not support relocation; candidates must be based in Singapore.
