About the Role
Join StandardAero in Winnipeg as a Manual Machinist II and contribute to the aerospace industry by working in a collaborative, safe, and temperature-controlled environment. Our facility fosters team spirit and prioritizes long-term career advancement in precision machining.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and analyze blueprints, technical drawings, and detailed work instructions accurately
- Set up and operate manual and CNC machinery to produce aerospace components
- Utilize precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to inspect parts
- Manufacture and repair high-precision aerospace parts adhering to strict tolerances and specifications
- Troubleshoot and optimize machining setups and support continuous process improvements
- Adhere to all applicable company safety, quality standards, and regulatory guidelines
- Participate in cross-training initiatives to assist various production team areas as needed
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or an equivalent credential
- Background in machining through training, apprenticeship, related experience, or openness to company-led training programs
- Proficiency in reading technical blueprints and precision measurement techniques
- Strong mechanical skills with keen attention to detail
- Basic proficiency in shop mathematics and measurements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended durations, with accommodations if necessary
- Flexibility to support multiple shifts including potential evenings or weekends
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in trades related to machining
- Experience in machining, manufacturing, aerospace, or maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) fields
- Hands-on experience with both manual and CNC machines
- Knowledge of manufacturing workflows, tooling, and fabrication processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Shift and Work Environment
The position primarily operates on the day shift from Monday to Friday, with occasional flexibility needed for evening or weekend coverage. No routine overnight shifts are required.
