Job Summary

The Structural Manager role requires an experienced professional with over 15 years of expertise in civil and structural engineering. This position involves independently executing structural calculations, leading structural projects, and delivering high-quality reports and drawings. The role demands sound judgment in evaluating and applying engineering codes, standards, and specifications to devise practical and cost-efficient solutions. Effective communication skills are necessary for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, sometimes across different offices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct the structural engineering team, including managing recruitment, resource allocation, and retention strategies.
• Maintain a motivated, high-performing team culture promoting continuous learning and creativity.
• Mentor and provide technical leadership to engineers within the team.
• Review, validate, and approve structural designs, calculations, and deliverables ensuring adherence to applicable codes and client requirements.
• Perform civil and structural calculations and prepare detailed reports.
• Produce drawings for designs and develop sketches for incorporation by designers.
• Collaborate closely with other disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, and architectural teams to ensure integrated project delivery.
• Manage documentation including drafting, organizing, storing, and retrieving structural deliverables and associated data.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Master’s in Structural Engineering from a reputable institution.
• 15-20 years of demonstrated leadership experience managing structural engineering teams within the industry.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
• Advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong expertise in load calculations, structural analysis, sizing, and design codes compliance.
• Experience in industrial domains such as Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power Plants, Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical, Semiconductor plants, or similar industrial projects with diverse execution expertise.
• Proficient in Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and detailed structural design for steel and concrete frameworks along with diverse foundation systems.
• Working knowledge of American engineering codes including IBC, ASCE, AISC, and ACI.
• Hands-on experience with structural engineering software such as STAAD, RISA3D, RISA FOUNDATION, RISA CONNECTION, and LPILE.
• Exposure to greenfield, retrofitting, and structural modification projects.
• Competence in interpreting geotechnical reports.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to communicate complex technical matters across multiple offices and teams.
• Proven track record of delivering projects within the agreed timelines and budget.
• Experience working on US-based projects is preferred.

Technical Tools

Proficiency in STAAD, RISA3D, RISA FOUNDATION, RISA CONNECTION, and LPILE is expected.
