Job description
About the Role
We seek an experienced design project manager dedicated to driving design development through to successful construction delivery. This role requires collaboration across various disciplines to support major Urban Core developments. You will ensure design activities are well-coordinated among consultants, contractors, and internal teams, maintaining alignment with programme schedules, quality standards, cost management, and overall project goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and synchronize the design processes from initial concept through detailed design to construction delivery.
- Assist in formulating and executing project design strategies, timelines, and deliverables.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary design consultants, contractors, and key project stakeholders to maintain project cohesion.
- Track design progress, identify potential risks, and facilitate prompt resolution of design and interface challenges.
- Manage design reviews, technical coordination, approvals, and design change procedures.
- Ensure that designs comply with project requirements, uphold quality standards, are constructible, and meet delivery objectives.
- Collaborate closely with Development, Commercial, Construction, Planning, and other relevant project functions.
- Support procurement efforts, consultant oversight, and coordination of contractor designs.
- Provide transparent reporting on design progress, risks, crucial decisions, and necessary actions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of professional experience in design and project management related to major construction or development initiatives.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale mixed-use, commercial, retail, hospitality, or urban development projects.
- Comprehensive understanding of the entire design lifecycle through construction and project handover.
- Preferred experience in client-side or developer roles with strong skills in coordinating consultants and contractors.
- Experience in the Middle East and exposure to complex, major development projects is highly advantageous.
