Job description
Job Summary
This role entails overseeing daily shift activities for Housekeeping, Recreation/Health Club, and Laundry if applicable. The manager directs and collaborates with teams to ensure that guestrooms, public spaces, and employee areas are impeccably clean and well-kept. Routine inspections are conducted to ensure compliance and accountability for corrective measures. The position aims to achieve guest and employee satisfaction while controlling operating costs.
Candidate Profile
Educational Background and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent with at least two years of experience in housekeeping or a related field.
- OR a 2-year college degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field without prior experience required.
Core Responsibilities
- Coordinate housekeeping operations and budget management.
- Ensure timely communication of guest room status to the Front Desk.
- Perform daily room inspections and determine cleaning priorities based on guest check-outs and immediate needs.
- Manage inventory to maintain sufficient stock of supplies.
- Maintain an effective inspection program for all guestrooms and public areas.
- Align departmental operations with financial targets, striving to meet or surpass budget goals.
- Provide employees with necessary resources including supplies, equipment, and uniforms.
- Communicate maintenance or cleaning needs clearly to the staff and verify comprehension.
- Supervise daily housekeeping shifts, ensuring policy and procedure compliance.
- Engage actively in team meetings promoting clear departmental objectives to achieve desired outcomes.
- Implement human resources activities such as training new staff and ongoing coaching.
- Foster a collaborative atmosphere and ensure fair application of policies and disciplinary actions in line with standard and local protocols.
- Manage employee scheduling, attendance tracking, and service behavior evaluations with constructive feedback.
- Promote employee recognition programs and maintain open communication channels to address staff concerns.
- Participate in disciplinary processes and celebrate team achievements publicly.
- Champion exceptional customer service aligned with the brand's culture.
- Develop and execute action plans to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Empower teams to deliver excellent service and swiftly resolve guest issues and complaints.
- Continuously strive for service improvement and emphasize guest satisfaction in all departmental communications.
