About the Role
Findex is looking for an experienced accounting leader to assume the Manager position in our Virtual Operations Accounting & Tax (A&T) Pool. This role is entirely remote but requires candidates to be based in New Zealand with full legal working rights. Reporting directly to the Virtual A&T Pool Lead, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a high-performing virtual team delivering compliance services across multiple New Zealand offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate workflow management for multiple office portfolios, ensuring appropriate task distribution and meeting deadlines across both onshore and offshore groups.
- Conduct advanced quality assurance reviews on compliance work, establish QA standards, and implement necessary corrective measures.
- Lead, mentor, and develop Assistant Managers, Senior Accountants, and Accountants to foster a motivated, high-achieving virtual team.
- Maintain strong relationships with office stakeholders and serve as the main contact for compliance delivery updates and communications.
- Offer advanced technical guidance on intricate accounting, tax, and compliance issues, helping resolve escalated concerns.
- Support continuous improvements in processes, systems, and operations as guided by the Virtual A&T Pool Lead.

Candidate Requirements
- About six or more years of experience in accounting or compliance with proven leadership capabilities.
- Demonstrated success managing virtual or multi-location teams.
- In-depth knowledge of tax laws and accounting standards pertinent to compliance activities.
- Strong coaching and development skills for both onshore and offshore teams.
- Excellent communication skills with a capability to influence distributed teams effectively.
- Familiarity and proficiency with workflow management software, accounting & tax systems, and internal platforms.
- Chartered Accountant qualification or equivalent, along with a relevant accounting degree.
- Maintenance of CPD hours and current membership or registration requirements.
