Job description
Overview
The role involves overseeing the execution of the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) of Singapore's defence technology security protocols to protect the nation's defence and security interests.
Responsibilities
- Enforce MINDEF's defence technology security policies effectively.
- Evaluate defence systems and related technologies to determine the implications of their transfer.
- Work collaboratively with both internal departments and external organizations.
- Conduct technical reviews of defence equipment and technology pertaining to export regulation and non-proliferation efforts.
- Perform analytical investigations connected to defence technology security.
Challenges
- Stay updated on global strategic developments and issues connected to export controls and non-proliferation.
- Appreciate and balance the diverse views and concerns of multiple stakeholders involved.
Requirements
- A degree or formal education in a scientific or technical discipline.
- Preferably a minimum of three years’ relevant technical or scientific work experience.
- Understanding of export control regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A keen interest in defence technologies.
