Team Overview

The Corporate Development and Investor Relations team functions as a strategic advisory unit, merging strategy, finance, and execution. Comprising experienced professionals with backgrounds in leading investment banks, this compact team aligns cross-functional efforts to explore new opportunities, spearhead fundraising and mergers and acquisitions, and implement strategic finance projects critical to Airwallex’s growth trajectory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess resource allocation and devise partnership, investment, and acquisition plans to foster long-term strategic benefits.
  • Identify new business, product, and market opportunities within the broader ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with senior management on fundraising initiatives and investor communication efforts.
  • Create operational and financial models that support decision-making and business cases.
  • Lead and execute impactful transactions affecting the company’s growth.
  • Find potential acquisition targets, manage negotiations, design deal structures, conduct financial analyses, oversee due diligence, and execute transactions ensuring strategic and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate with legal, finance, and executive leadership to guarantee smooth integration post-acquisition.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Between 4 to 10 years of relevant experience, preferably from top-tier investment banks, private equity, management consulting, corporate development roles in technology companies, or related fields.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent educational credentials.
  • Direct experience in investment banking, especially involving live M&A transactions.
  • Strong analytical aptitude and proficiency in managing investment documentation and financial modeling.
  • Background or familiarity with technology sectors, financial services, or dynamic high-growth environments is considered advantageous.
  • Proven self-starter with the capability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to clearly articulate complex concepts to senior leadership and various stakeholders.
  • Outcome-driven mindset with accountability for key deliverables.
