Job description
Overview
This role involves overseeing multiple contract management functions at a significant EPC/EPCI project scale. The individual holds accountability for the success of contract management and claims for assigned large-scale contracts. Building and maintaining positive relationships with internal departments and clients, including contracts specialists and administrators at various levels, is a primary responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead departmental improvement projects and initiatives.
- Provide manpower and bidding forecasts to Business Line Management when required.
- Manage and coordinate relationships with all stakeholders involved in contract management, including Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, Subcontracts, Fabrication, Construction, Marine Installation, Hook Up and Commissioning, Consortium/JV partners, QHSE, Legal, Finance, Business Line Management, EXCOM, and Customers/Clients.
- Contribute to the annual Business Line budgeting process.
- Participate in setting department goals and strategies.
- Drive general process and system enhancements within the department.
- Lead contract negotiations with clients and customers.
- Coordinate workloads and resources with Contracts Director and Senior Contracts Director.
- Oversee Contracts and Senior Contracts Specialists' activities to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Own the enforcement and compliance verification regarding all company policies and procedures.
- Ensure all team members understand and fulfill their responsibilities concerning company policies and procedures.
- Ensure timely completion of all mandatory trainings for self and team.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Legal, Commercial, or Quantity Surveying.
- At least 10 years of contracts management experience with a minimum of 1–2 years in a managerial role.
- Proven track record in contract management within the EPC/EPCI sector, especially related to Energy Transition, Onshore, Offshore, Subsea, or Floating Facilities (FPSO/FPU).
- Comprehensive knowledge of EPC/EPCI project lifecycles, including design, procurement, construction, and installation.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport and gain respect from team members of diverse experience levels.
- Familiarity with industry-specific contracts, standards, and terminology.
- Excellent negotiation skills aimed at reciprocal beneficial outcomes.
- Capability to analyze complex contractual documentation and identify potential risks.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills enabling effective multi-stakeholder collaboration.
- Proficiency with contract management software and MS Office applications.
- Highly detail-oriented with outstanding organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure and meet stringent deadlines.
