Manager (Audience Analytics)

Role Overview

This role involves utilizing principles from psychology and social sciences to improve strategic communications for the Ministry of Defence and the Singapore Armed Forces (MINDEF/SAF). The manager will study various audiences to inform communication strategies, policies, and planning across public outreach, internal communications, and community relations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual frameworks and models to deeply understand key audience segments and defence-related topics.
• Design and implement research projects to gather relevant data.
• Provide data-centric insights and recommendations to boost MINDEF/SAF’s communication reach and engagement with diverse groups.
• Apply theories and methodologies from psychology and social sciences to analyze audience attitudes and behaviors.
• Work collaboratively with stakeholders within MINDEF/SAF and other ministries on research initiatives.

Challenges

• Balancing the application of psychological and social scientific methods with the varied interests and constraints across different government departments.

Candidate Profile

• Educational background ideally in Psychology, Psychometrics, Behavioural Economics, or related disciplines.
• Experience in strategic communications is a plus.
• Familiarity with social science analytical techniques.
• Experience designing and conducting research involving data analysis, including use of tools like SPSS, is preferred.
• Knowledge of programming or analytical languages such as R or Python is advantageous.
• Strong skills in presenting and communicating findings effectively.
• Capability to clearly articulate research results and actionable recommendations.
