Manager, Alumni Engagement

Role Overview

As the Manager of Alumni Engagement at GITAM Deemed University, you will be responsible for fostering robust connections with alumni across various geographies. You will build and nurture alumni chapters both within India and internationally, managing their leadership and organizational governance while acting as the main liaison for chapter activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive alumni engagement initiatives, creating and maintaining meaningful relationships within the alumni community globally.
• Facilitate the formation and governance of GITAM Alumni Association chapters by overseeing leadership onboarding and executive committee setup.
• Plan and execute flagship events such as Homecoming, reunions, and regional alumni gatherings, ensuring thorough internal coordination before commitments are made.
• Manage all alumni communications across multiple platforms including email, WhatsApp, and newsletters, ensuring approvals through the Directorate.
• Monitor alumni accomplishments via public and social media to identify candidates for recognition programs, managing cycles like the Distinguished Alumni Awards.
• Supervise the alumni merchandise program covering design, procurement, and distribution.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports on key engagement metrics such as active participation, chapter vitality, event turnout, volunteer involvement, mentorship, and opportunities created for students.
• Lead and mentor the alumni engagement team, promoting continuous improvement in processes and turnaround times.
• Evaluate engagement outcomes and collaborate with academic and functional departments to align objectives and guarantee effective implementation.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree coupled with 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in alumni relations, program or community engagement, or stakeholder management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills suitable for interactions with senior alumni and external partners.
• Proven track record in cultivating relationships that translate into tangible, measurable results over time.
• Experience in team coordination and handling complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and workflows.
• Proficiency with data analysis, metrics tracking, and reporting to showcase engagement success.
• Exceptional organizational capabilities with strong ownership of deliverables and timelines.
• Background in higher education, alumni relations, corporate relations, or events management is advantageous.
