Gowan Home is a prominent distributor servicing the kitchen, electrical, and building materials sectors in Ireland. They represent exclusive premium brands such as Bertazzoni, Elica, Franke, Hisense, Ninja, NordMende, and Shark, based in their Citywest office.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

• Analyze monthly brand gross profit differences, explain discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct variance analysis on overheads compared to budgeted amounts.
• Examine monthly management accounts to aid strategic decision-making and enhance business outcomes.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and departments to optimize working capital utilization.
• Offer financial advice and assistance to various teams by identifying inefficiencies, supporting cost reduction efforts, and improving operational performance.
• Develop financial models for investment proposals, pricing strategies, or new product launches.
• Lead supplier claim processing, ensuring accuracy, timely submission, and internal controls for completeness.
• Partner with the Finance Director in preparing annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, cash flow analyses, and long-term strategic plans.
• Support year-end statutory audits and other audit activities as needed.
• Perform additional duties and tasks assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

• Degree or professional accreditation in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated professional experience in finance or accounting roles.
• Thorough understanding of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and accounting standards.
• Competency in data analysis and generating comprehensive financial reports.
• Advanced usage of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong commercial insight and IT capability.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
