Role Overview
We seek a seasoned Contract Director to strategically lead the successful execution of client partner services within large-scale infrastructure programmes. This senior leadership position ensures contractual commitments are fulfilled, internal teams are aligned for delivery efficiency, and quality assurance is embedded throughout program lifecycles.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct management and performance oversight of client partner service contracts ensuring seamless service execution.
- Address and resolve any contractual issues that arise during project delivery.
- Lead the development and application of contract management strategies and governance frameworks.
- Implement and govern quality assurance and compliance measures across all relevant service areas.
- Coordinate resource onboarding and deployment to meet project requirements.
- Strengthen collaborative relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
- Maintain comprehensive accountability for contract performance and service delivery excellence.
Experience & Expertise
- Proven leadership in strategic contract management across complex, large organisations, with skills in programme-aligned contract strategies and governance structures.
- Extensive commercial knowledge of contract forms such as NEC, FIDIC and customized agreements, including experience with negotiation, change management, claims, and dispute resolution.
- Proven ability to establish contractor performance standards with KPIs, SLAs, continuous improvement, and robust stakeholder relationship management.
- Strong background in managing technically complex design and delivery projects within architecture, engineering, or construction, integrating technical, commercial, and programme demands.
- Knowledge of digital programme management tools and contract administration systems.
Candidate Requirements
- Demonstrated extensive experience in contract management for major capital programmes, especially within transport, utilities, energy, or construction sectors.
- Hands-on experience managing contracts throughout full project lifecycles including procurement, mobilisation, delivery phases, and post-completion reviews on high-value projects.
- Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary teams and coordination across diverse stakeholders and delivery partners.
- Effective management of multiple technical aspects while driving delivery efficiency.
- Proficiency with MS Office and project management platforms.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- High attention to detail and strong client expectation management abilities.
- Proactive issue and risk resolution skills.
- Strategic thinker with a holistic approach to programme delivery.
- Strong prioritisation and time management abilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification (required).
- Project or Programme Management certification (preferred).
- Relevant safety or compliance accreditations (preferred).
- Chartered Engineer status and membership in a recognised professional body (preferred).
