Maintenance Technician

Overview

We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Maintenance Technician with experience in industrial environments such as logistics, warehousing, or manufacturing. Join our expanding team at a newly established site located near Sittingbourne, Kent, and contribute to the smooth, safe, and effective operation of the facility.

Work Schedule and Compensation

This is a full-time, permanent role with a compensation of £36,400 annually. The position involves working a rotating shift pattern alternating between days (6am to 6pm) and nights (6pm to 6am) every two weeks, including alternate weekends.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine inspections and timely repairs on building structures, door mechanisms, storage racking, wall painting, minor plumbing issues such as toilets and sinks, and fundamental electrical and mechanical systems.
• Promptly address operational faults by diagnosing and resolving problems to reduce downtime, coordinating with external engineers or contractors when specialized assistance is necessary.
• Perform safety inspections, maintain detailed records of maintenance work, ensure conformity with site standards, and provide support to contractors working onsite.
• Collaborate closely with Operations teams to facilitate layout changes and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Candidate Profile

• Demonstrable practical experience in facilities or maintenance roles within warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or comparable industrial sectors.
• Strong competencies in general repairs involving mechanical, structural, and basic electrical tasks.
• A commitment to safety with thorough knowledge of health and safety regulations, effective workload prioritization, and excellent communication skills.
• Dependable, motivated, and capable of working independently as well as cooperatively within shift teams.
