Maintenance Technician

About the Role

Join PCI Pharma Services in Stamullen, County Meath as a Maintenance Technician in a permanent part-time position working night shifts from Monday to Wednesday, 7pm to 7am. Key Responsibilities

• Perform planned routine and reactive maintenance including machine changeovers, breakdowns, and stoppages promptly to minimize production downtime.
• Ensure all equipment and plant operate safely, efficiently, and maintain compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Expertly detect faults in electrical and mechanical systems and apply troubleshooting skills.
• Program PLCs and participate in technical projects to enhance or develop new processes.
• Design mechanical systems and oversee their implementation.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives on machinery within GMP standards.
• Manage change controls (MOCs) through the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Use design of experiments and advanced problem-solving methodologies to optimize processes.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas, report near misses immediately to the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) department.
• Participate in A3 problem-solving activities to identify root causes of major issues.
• Plan and lead engineering improvement projects from design through validation.
• Communicate significant repair needs to supervisors and management.
• Support production teams in identifying and implementing equipment and procedural improvements securely through proper processes.
• Conduct equipment disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly as per maintenance schedules.
• Execute machine setups and changeovers efficiently aligning with production targets.
• Maintain accurate documentation including tooling logs, setting sheets, and preventive maintenance records.
• Assist in training colleagues and utilize workshop tools to manufacture or repair parts.
• Contribute to product trials, new product introductions, and additional tasks as directed to support organizational goals.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Advanced Certificate (Craft-level 6 NFQ) in mechanical or electrical discipline or equivalent engineering degree/diploma or relevant work experience in lieu of formal education.
• Minimum 4 years of practical experience in a relevant role.
• Proven ability to lead and achieve results through effective management.
• Strong communication skills to set objectives and ensure task completion within set timelines.
• Excellent multitasking capabilities and dynamic problem-solving approach.
• Self-driven with a focus on achieving results.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts as needed by the business.
• Team player with adaptability to collaborate with various departments.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Commitment to health and safety practices and cooperation with safety regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in GMP or regulated manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and tools for continuous improvement.
