Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician (Electromechanical) plays a crucial role in supporting the maintenance department to maintain safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production machinery and facility infrastructure through routine inspections, preventive upkeep, diagnostics, and repairs of mechanical and electrical systems.
Primary Duties
- Conduct regular inspections and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment, machinery, and plant systems.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance following established procedures and guidelines.
- Assist in troubleshooting and fixing faults and failures of production equipment.
- Diagnose issues related to motors, gearboxes, drives, pumps, conveyor systems, and control units.
- Execute repairs, replacements, adjustments, and installations of mechanical and electrical parts as needed.
- Utilize specialized maintenance tools, measurement instruments, and testing devices for fault detection and inspections.
- Identify and report equipment abnormalities, recurring issues, and concerns that may affect reliability promptly.
- Adhere strictly to company safety policies and standards while performing all maintenance tasks.
- Accurately complete maintenance documentation including work orders, checklists, and logs promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within maintenance workshops, storage areas, and work environments.
- Contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing equipment performance and reliability to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate closely with production and other departments to resolve equipment-related problems efficiently.
- Take part in root cause analyses and continuous improvement activities as needed.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or comparable technical fields.
- Additional certifications in maintenance disciplines, electrical safety, or industrial equipment are beneficial.
- Between zero to two years’ experience in electromechanical, mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance within manufacturing or industrial settings.
- Fresh graduates holding relevant technical education or those with apprenticeship or internship involvement are welcome to apply.
Skills and Competencies
- Fundamental understanding of mechanical components like gearboxes, bearings, belts, chains, pumps, conveyors, and power transmission mechanisms.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems, including motors, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), motor control circuits, circuit breakers, contactors, relays, and protective devices.
- Familiarity with principles of preventive and corrective maintenance methods.
- Proficiency with common maintenance tools and testing equipment such as multimeters and insulation testers.
- Capability to interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, equipment manuals, and maintenance instructions.
- Competence in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical faults and applying problem-solving techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining safety compliance.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
- Capacity to operate both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic industrial environment.
- Basic computer skills for record keeping and reporting maintenance activities.
- Enthusiasm for continuous learning and technical skill enhancement through training programs.
