Role Overview
The Maintenance Technician position is a full-time role based onsite at our Edinburgh hotel. The technician's responsibilities include regular inspections, maintenance, and repairing the hotel's facilities, guest rooms, and equipment to maintain a secure and pleasant environment for guests.
Key Duties
- Address maintenance requests promptly and effectively.
- Diagnose and fix mechanical and electrical problems.
- Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance to avoid equipment failures.
- Collaborate with external contractors as required.
- Oversee monitoring of building systems to ensure proper function.
- Follow all health and safety regulations diligently.
- Record and document completed maintenance activities.
- Work alongside other departments to minimize guest inconvenience during repairs.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proficiency in equipment upkeep and repairs related to building systems and hotel facilities.
- Experience in troubleshooting and industrial maintenance to resolve technical challenges efficiently.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance techniques aimed at minimizing downtime.
- Understanding of fundamental electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems; certifications in these areas are advantageous.
- Capability to interpret technical manuals, adhere to safety standards, and follow maintenance schedules thoroughly.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work well with hotel personnel and external service providers.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent time management, and the ability to prioritize various maintenance tasks.
- Previous exposure to hotel, commercial, or facilities maintenance settings is preferred.
